modificaIl brano Jump to the Beat è stato scritto da Lisa Walden e Narada Michael Walden.[1][2][3][4][5] Lo stesso Narada Michael Walden fu anche produttore del singolo, che uscì su etichetta Atlantic Records[2] e su etichetta Cotillion Records.[6]
Il singolo raggiunse il primo posto nella classifica US Dance[3], il terzo posto delle classifiche nel Regno Unito[1][3][6] (dove rimase per due settimane consecutive)[6] e il settimo posto in Belgio.[2] Nel Regno Unito, il disco rimase per cinque settimane nella Top Ten e per sette nella Top 20.[6]
