Oh, I see, sorry. :-) The licence under which they have been uploaded is somewhat "delicate", as in Commons there have been mixed feelings about its compatibility with their own copyright system. Images under PD-Italia are indeed allowed, under current interpretation of the law, in Commons and that's fine, but there's a strong recommendation not to delete the copy on it.wiki, as it is not clear enough how long the Common's copies will really survive. :-) So the problem is not the fact that they are in Commons: we don't mark them as "NowCommon" in order not to suggest that it is safe to delete them.
