Bright Young People

Bright Young Things, o Bright Young People, era un soprannome dato dalla stampa scandalistica a un gruppo di giovani aristocratici, mondani e bohémien della Londra degli anni '20. Organizzavano elaborate feste in maschera, bevendo pesantemente o facendo uso di droghe.

Hanno ispirato un certo numero di scrittori, tra cui Nancy Mitford, Anthony Powell, Henry Green e il poeta John Betjeman. Il romanzo di Evelyn Waugh del 1930 Vile Bodies, dal cui adattamento è stato tratto il film del 2003 Bright Young Things, è uno sguardo satirico su questo periodo. Cecil Beaton ha iniziato la sua carriera in fotografia documentando questo set, di cui era membro. Il marchio di abbigliamento di lusso Tallulah Tennant deriva da due dei suoi membri, Tallulah Bankhead e Stephen Tennant.
